Eat Fresh and Local: Summer Vegetables from Morning Kiss Organic

(Morning Kiss Organic)

Sourcing from local farms and East Coast growers, Morning Kiss Organic is prepared to ship summer vegetables from its growing and packing regions this summer.

Program offerings will include cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet corn, and other summer crops as well as fresh potatoes and onions. Broccoli crowns are new to the organic lineup this year.

Along with greater demand for organic produce, consumers are increasingly conscious of eating locally and seasonally. Morning Kiss Organic partners with local farmers to harvest summer vegetables at the height of their nutrition during the growing season, allowing the produce to spend less time in freight and arrive fresh to the consumer.

“In the summertime, our ‘farm to fork’ ratio drops considerably, shaving off many days getting fresh produce from the grower to the consumer as we are sourcing locally from New England,” says Michael Guptill of Morning Kiss Organic. “Our daily deliveries to stores ensures that the food our farmers work so hard to grow stays fresh.”

Morning Kiss Organic works with New England farmers like Joe Czajkowski, a Massachusetts-based grower who supplies organic corn, and expects an excellent harvest. “We truly value our relationships with local growers for their knowledge of the crops, and our confidence in their growing practices and commitment to organic farming,” Guptill adds.
