Molter Produce is experiencing good growing conditions for its organic crops, said Aaron Molter,  owner of the Benton Harbor, Mich.-based company.

The company is one the largest organic growers in the Midwest,” he said.

Organic commodities marketed by Molter Produce include kale, cabbage, zucchini, yellow squash, green peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and hard squash.

Volume may grow slightly this year, as demand has grown because of high trucking rates out of California for Western organic commodities, he said.

Molter Produce may ship about 100,000 cartons of organic produce this year, he said.

Molter said the H-2A labor program has helped the company expand.

“H-2A has been a good fit for us and our growth.
