Words from the wise: how to build enduring industry relationships
The latest crowd-sourced produce wisdom came to me after I posted this question on the LinkedIn Fresh Produce Industry Discussion Group:
“What is one skill or tactic you use to establish enduring relationships in the produce business?”
Industry leaders didn’t waste words with their answers:
- “Honesty”
- “Get up, dress up, show up.”
- “Share information freely and add value.”
- “Listen first, speak second. Empathize.”
- "Authenticity...never try or claim to be something you are not. It’s a deal-breaker.”
- “Consistency”
- “Ask about the quality of the product and performance of your service, talk the problems and find solutions together.”
- “Always share an insight.”
- “Always talk.”
- “Communication.”
