Peruvian Mayan Sweet onions available

(Keystone Fruit Marketing)

As we are fast approaching the Peruvian sweet onion season, who better to give the scoop than the onion experts themselves, Keystone Fruit Marketing, a division of Progressive Produce.

The beautiful Peruvian sweet onion is typically available from late July through early March, and this year is no different for Keystone.

We expect to have supplies available from all of our warehouses during our usual sales season, providing our loyal customers with the exceptional product and service they’re accustomed to receiving.

“With worldwide inflation, the rising costs of transportation, and Peru facing labor challenges, it is no secret that this year has been – and will continue to be – a difficult one for imported sweet onions,” explained Mike Blume, Director of Sales and Marketing. “Our team, however, is ready to rise to the challenge, and with advanced notice, we can certainly cover your needs.”

Keep an eye out for our rich maroon and gold Mayan Sweets label – recently refreshed and looking better than ever!

“Mayan Sweets are one of the world’s best known sweet onions. Put our beautiful onions at the front of your store; promote for the holidays and special events; and cross-promote with other items!” advises sweet onion commodity manager, Matthew Gideon. “Provide information to your customers about what makes our Mayan Sweets so special… And remember: you can always reach out to us for help and/or materials!”

Peruvian Mayan Sweets are offered in the trusty 40lb carton and a wide variety of consumer packs.
