First Y-TIPA event big success

(Texas International Produce Association)

Young produce professionals swarmed the 3rd floor of Topgolf in Pharr, Texas on July 29th.

The newly formed Y-TIPA committee of TIPA welcomed 70 of its 35 and younger members to enjoy an evening of entertainment, food and valuable peer networking.

“For our very first event, we were not expecting as many attendees as it turned out to be,” said Rebecca Garcia, Sales Manager at Origin Fresh. “The energy in the event was bright and joyful, and everyone who showed up was extremely excited, curious and motivated about this new organization. It really didn’t matter if the work experience was sales, accounting, or logistics, because everyone’s common ground was our age group. We don’t see that level of focused communication and networking between our age group at other produce events, and I think this is why Y-TIPA will be so successful.”

For more information on Y-TIPA, or to join its ranks, email ytipa@texipa.org or call the TIPA offices at 956-581-8632.
