Highlighting the healthy snack attributes of California grapes, commercials and messages will appear now through the end of the year on television, on podcasts and radio stations, and online, said Jeff Cardinale, vice president of communications for California Table Grape Commission.

Grapes from California commercials are airing on digital television through November. Three 15-second commercials, California, Snacking, and Health are airing on a variety of streaming services, digital television networks, apps, and sites, including Roku, Sling TV, HGTV, and foodnetwork.com, reaching primary shoppers ages 25-73, he said.

Commercials, both with retailer logos and without, are airing in U.S. markets where retailers have committed to promotion of California grapes, Cardinale said.

The commercials will also air in select Canadian markets in September and October. Digital television serves as a retailer incentive, he said. Four radio show influencers will voice ads focused on choosing grapes from California as a healthy snack, he said.

Amy Brown is once again voicing radio ads that will run on stations that air the Bobby Bones and Women of iHeart Country radio shows, plus on the 4 Things with Amy Brown podcast, Cardinale said.

Enrique Santos will reach Spanish-speaking consumers on stations that air the Tu Mañana program and English language stations that air On the Move, plus on the Hola, My Name Is podcast. Mario Lopez will voice California grape ads on stations that air ON with Mario Lopez and iHeartRadio Countdown, plus on the ON with Mario Lopez podcast. On stations that air the Steve Harvey Show, Nephew Tommy will voice California grape spots beginning in September.

On radio stations throughout Canada and the U.S., retail-tagged California grape ads will run on traffic, news and weather reports during morning and evening drive times, Cardinale said.

An example of one of the spots, entitled Pack the Snack. is as follows:

“Whether you’re sending the kids back to school or preparing for your own adventure, pack the snack that’s perfectly portable. Go with grapes from California every day! Delicious and packed with goodness, California grapes are available at (store).”

Health messages will air around the country on the Radio Health Journal network. The spots, voiced by dietitian Courtney Romano, air now through December.
