Balls Food Stores celebrates newly constructed and newly remodeled locations throughout the Kansas City area in 2021. In a year where the grocery industry faced unique challenges, Balls Food Stores forged ahead with internal improvement plans through their commitment to providing the best possible service for their communities.  Innovative projects were focused on 4 locations:

  • The Olathe, KS Hen House Market at 13600 S Blackbob Road celebrated a grand re-opening in April. The remodel features a drive thru pharmacy as well as updated floral, meat, produce, deli, bakery, grocery and guest services departments.
  • Ball’s Price Chopper at 5665 Bannister Road in Kansas City, MO celebrated a grand opening for its newly constructed store on July 28th. The new location is approximately 50,000 square feet and replaces an older Price Chopper location which was one mile east of the new store.
  • Ball’s Price Chopper located at 2107 S 4th Street in Leavenworth, KS celebrated its newly remodeled store with a grand reopening on Sept 15th. The new location is approximately 50,000 square feet and offers substantial upgrades and expansions in nearly every department.
  • Ball’s Price Chopper at 8430 Wornall Road in Kansas City, MO celebrated a grand re-opening on December 8th. The 37,000 square feet, newly remodeled store is a major upgrade from the original and includes expanded grocery offerings and services for the community.

Each of these projects supports Balls Food Stores’ commitment to a cleaner environment. The projects feature the use of high efficiency refrigeration and LED lighting, which is 40% more energy efficient than traditional lighting. A conscientious recycling program and zero waste policy for excess food are part of Balls Food Stores’ century old mission to support health, wellness, family and community.
