Yakima, Wash.-based FirstFruits Marketing has added Zillah, Wash.-based Stadelman Fruit as their partner for pear growing and distribution.

The partnership began on Jan. 4, with shipping starting Jan. 10.
“Our experience combined with FirstFruits’ strong retailer relationships will make for a robust partnership,” Troy Elliot, vice president for Stadelman Fruit, said in the release.

Stadelman Fruit has operated for more than 100 years, with 70 years of experience shipping pears for both domestic and international markets, according to the release.

The deal expands FirstFruits Marketing’s already robust line of apples that is anchored by the proprietary Opal apple variety, FirstFruits President Chuck Zeutenhorst said in the release.
“We are excited to add Stadelman Fruit as a partner,” he said.

“This relationship will help us expand our already extensive fulfillment ability and continue to position us as a leader of the apple, pear and cherry categories.”
