Center for Produce Safety announces annual research symposium
The Center for Produce Safety will hold its 13th annual Research Symposium, to be held June 21-22 at the Hyatt Regency LaJolla in San Diego, Calif.
“This year’s event will be different. First and foremost, we are planning to host an in-person event,” CPS Executive Director Bonnie Fernandez-Fenaroli said in a news release. “The past two symposia have been virtual. While CPS has been nimble and shifted to a virtual format as needed, it is important to have the in-person conversations between members of the supply chain, regulators and scientists. Food safety is a difficult subject; building personal relationships and trust (are) essential to navigate solutions.”
“Translating Research Into Practice: What the Industry Should Know” is this year’s focus.
The symposium will showcase the final results from 11 research projects.
Participants will also learn what is in the CPS research pipeline. There are 22 new projects covering a vast array of food safety topics, Fernandez-Fenaroli said in the release.
