20th anniversary brings expansion for IPG

Salinas, Calif.-based International Produce Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022 by expanding its reach in Chile, Peru and Mexico.

During the past 18 months, IPG has grown its procurement and sales power with the addition of offices in Chile, Peru, and most recently, Mexico, according to a news release.

The new offices will concentrate on sourcing produce for IPG’s growing customer base, according to the release, as well as handling direct imports into these countries from other supply regions.

IPG Chile, led by Rodrigo Baquedano, is sourcing from Chilean growers and exporting fresh grapes, cherries, berries, apples and citrus and also stone fruit, mangos, kiwis and avocados, the release said.

IPG Peru, led by Carla Robles, will primarily source grapes, avocados, citrus and berries, but will also market Chilean pomegranates, mangoes and other produce. IPG Peru will source premium grape varieties such as Autumn Crisp, Sweet Globes and IPG’s own private brands including IPG Gold, the release said.

IPG Mexico, led by Karla Gonzalez and Gabriela Soto, will primarily focus on avocados, berries, grapes, asparagus and broccoli. The office will also source bananas, limes, mangos, papaya, watermelons and other items, the release said.

Taken together, the expansion into Mexico, Peru and Chile will allow IPG to develop and ship trusted brands such as IPG Gold and King Leon, company officials said.

“This is a very exciting time for IPG, and we want to thank our loyal customers and suppliers for meeting the challenge with us. This is just the beginning,” Dalton Dovolis, export sales representative at IPG, said in the release.
