In anticipation of spring’s return, Chiquita is celebrating through an all-new collaboration with Italian artist Michela Picchi, with the creative supervision of Armando Testa advertising agency, to makeover its iconic blue sticker with a vibrant twist.

"The joyful designs are a celebration of rebirth, growth, rejuvenation and sunshine, featuring eye-catching colors, mesmerizing patterns and instantly recognizable spring visuals that perfectly complement Chiquita’s bright yellow bananas," said the company. Now through mid-April, these limited-edition stickers will adorn 200 million Chiquita bananas worldwide.

“I was thrilled to work with Chiquita because the brand’s bright and energetic identity lends itself perfectly to my style,” Michela Picchi said in a release. “The Spring season signals the coming of warmer days and new beginnings, so incorporating those visuals into the stickers was essential to the design to ensure that each sticker exudes the excitement of the new season.”

Picchi is a cross-disciplinary artist who is known for her use of vibrant color palettes and has an experimental approach in her artwork, said Chiquita.

“We know that fans often crave the warmth and sunshine that the spring season brings,” Jamie Postell, vice president of sales for Chiquita North America, said. “By embodying Chiquita’s bold and fun spirit, we hope that Picchi’s artwork on our stickers can help consumers to feel refreshed as we head into spring.”
