The Packer and PMG Launch “ProduceEDU” Education Platform

( )

The Packer and PMG announce the launch of ProduceEDU, an online education platform offering courses tailored for both the buy-side and supply-side audiences of the produce industry. ProduceEDU coursework is developed by The Packer and PMG editorial team in conjunction with subject matter experts within and outside the industry.

“Employee turnover is at an all-time high, and our industry is no exception to this trend,” said Matt Morgan, executive vice president for produce at Farm Journal. “With a flood of new employees coming into the fresh produce supply chain, demand for trusted training programs is high and our team at The Packer and PMG is excited to fulfill this need for the industry.”

Courses available on the platform include Understanding Fresh Produce’s Carbon Footprint and Produce Buying Fundamentals: Navigating Surprises and Stress on the Produce Buying Desk, with more high-level education modules coming soon. The platform also will feature commodity-specific content to further educate both new and tenured buyers on the latest products, trends and market dynamics.

“The fresh produce suppliers and allied companies we work with provide a vast brain trust that is just waiting to be tapped into,” said Morgan. “ProduceEDU will serve as a free and convenient channel for these companies to share and buyers to benefit from their knowledge. Creating these connections is a big part of what we do in the industry and ProduceEDU will provide a great extension to our current offerings.”

To elevate the new platform and its benefits, The Packer and PMG will host a promotion and giveaway across both brands’ social media accounts. Sponsorships and opportunities for contributed content and other collaborations will be announced soon.
