Store check slideshow — DeCicco Family Markets in New York
DeCicco Family Markets in Katonah, N.Y., has a jam-packed produce department that maximizes a relatively small space for this village about one hour north of New York City.
We stopped by for a store check around lunchtime, as staff was busy restocking the produce department. We noticed a lot of cross-merchandising, a full fresh-cut section, beautiful wet rack with lush greens and good signage highlighting weekly specials and locally grown produce.
To see more merchandising, look for the next Produce Artist Award Series contest. The deadline to submit your produce display photos for the spring contest is May 20. More details, such as produce commodity categories, are to come, but we accept six to 10 photos, and there are always the top produce merchandiser/specialist and top produce manager categories.
