International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) will convene industry leaders in Guadalajara, Mexico on June 22 - 23 at the Mexico Conference. The event will be the first for IFPA but will continue the Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) Fresh Connections Mexico event series.  IFPA was formed earlier this year when PMA and United Fresh Produce Association came together to create a singular organization for the produce industry.

The Mexico conference will take place at the Hard Rock Guadalajara Hotel and brings together the entire fresh produce industry supply chain, including producers, distributors, exporters, buyers, technology suppliers, retail, and more.  It is the premier event to create valuable connections to build business, promote products and learn.

The event will also be a key learning opportunity for those interested in exploring the most pressing issues for the industry.  Speakers will include industry leaders in sustainability, food safety and transportation.  Experts from Euromonitor present on new markets, and the closing session will focus on retail trends shaping the industry in the region.

The keynote speaker, Karla Wheelock, is a social entrepreneur, lecturer and mountaineer who summited Everest and will speak to human behavior – both individual and collective – in both personal and business life.  The full schedule for the event is available here.

New to this year’s event will be the Business Round Tables where Mexican growers will be able to hold 15 minute meetings with US, Canadian and Mexican buyers.  Buyers confirmed to attend the event include Baldor, Calimax, Interfresh, Lakeside, Mission, Rancho Markerts, UNFI Produce, Vesta Foodservice, Walmart – Mexico and Central America, and more.

For more information and to register for the event, see the conference website.
