USDA seeks comments on pest risk assessment on Spanish peppers
The USDA has drafted a pest risk assessment for the expansion of U.S. pepper imports from Spain.
The assessment, according to a news release, describes potential pests associated with the commodity.
The USDA said it shares the documents to determine whether stakeholders have information that might lead the agency to revise the draft assessment before the USDA identifies pest mitigations and proceed with the commodity import approval process.

Spain is one of about 20 countries that ship fresh peppers to the U.S., according to USDA trade numbers.
