The Packer is calling for nominations for the 2022 Apple Person of the Year.

The Packer will present the award at the U.S. Apple Association’s 2022 Apple Crop Outlook and Marketing Conference set for Aug. 18-19, in Chicago. 

Last year's Apple Person of the Year award was presented to Sean Gilbert, general manager of Gilbert Orchards, Yakima, Wash. The Packer's Tom Karst presented Gilbert with the award on Aug. 19, during the Apple Association's 2021 Outlook and Marketing Conference.

In 2020, Kaari Stannard, owner and president of New York Apple Sales, Glenmont, N.Y., was presented the award during that year's conference, which was held virtually. 

The award, first presented by The Packer in 1964, recognizes an individual who has shown leadership and commitment to the advancement of the apple industry.
