(Center for Produce Safety)

A four-page executive summary of the June 21-22 Center for Produce Safety’s Research Symposium is now available.

The 2022 CPS Symposium featured produce safety research presentations of 10 final reports, 24 research projects in process and industry discussions on a wide range of critically important produce safety challenges, according to a news release.

This executive summary can be used by produce companies to evaluate their produce safety programs, the release said. In addition, produce companies can engage customers, trade groups and regulators to set the framework for trust-building discussions and data-sharing opportunities to advance mutual produce safety objectives and enhance consumer confidence in fresh produce.

Some of the new learnings from the symposium include insights on listeria risks on packing equipment, the use of infrared cameras for real-time temperature monitoring, hazard analysis for Cyclospora and other topics.
