Michigan Apple Committee touts coming season
The Lansing-based Michigan Apple Committee is using social media, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, to build interest in the coming Michigan apple harvest, said Diane Smith, executive director.
“We’re posting creative, fun videos every month,” Smith said.
“It’s almost crunch time,” posts proclaim as the committee continues its countdown to fall in an effort to get consumers excited about the approaching apple season.
Once the harvest begins, the emphasis will switch to recipes, various uses for Michigan apples and a look at the science behind the fruit, she said.
“We want to educate consumers about where their food comes from,” Smith said.
