PMG's 2022 Produce Retailer of the Year: Chris Miller of MOM's Organic Market

Chris Miller started as a produce clerk more than 12 years ago and worked his way up at Rockville, Md.-based MOM's Organic Market, as the company grew from four stores to 22.

To this day, MOM's is where this environmental studies graduate is supposed to be, now as produce director: A mission-based company focused on protecting and restoring the environment.

Miller is PMG’s 2022 Produce Retailer of the Year, selected among many great nominations for his leadership style, innovation and ability to cultivate supplier relationships in these tough times of so many supply chain challenges.

He will be on the cover of the next issue of PMG magazine and will be presented with an award at the International Fresh Produce Association's Global Produce and Floral Show, Oct. 27-29 in Orlando.

Watch the video interview with Chris Miller.

Founded by CEO Scott Nash in 1987 in his mother's garage, the company's produce departments are 100% USDA-certified organic, and those stores — in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York — are also recycle centers.

Look for an in-depth, multisourced story in the September-October issue of PMG magazine. If you don't get the print issue in the mail, you can always read the digital edition here.
