U.S. imports of Mexican fresh produce continue to grow at Texas ports

Texas ports have seen an increasing volume of Mexican fresh produce over the past 15 years, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Shipments of Mexican produce through all U.S. land port-of-entries totaled 531,263 truckloads in 2020, and Texas accounted for about 290,000 of those truckloads. 

Imports of Mexican fresh produce through Texas ports rose from 209,817 truckloads in 2015 to 246,143 truckloads in 2018, then reaching 289,354 truckloads in 2020.
