GEM-Pack looks for big jump in pineberry volume

(GEM-Pack)

Conditions look excellent for GEM-Pack Florida strawberries, says Michelle Deleissegues, director of marketing for the company.

“We have doubled our production of pineberries for 2022-23 season,” she said, noting output from December to April. “Also, we are very optimistic for some quality long-stem production for Valentine’s Day.”

Because the firm has doubled its pineberry acreage, Deleissegues said retail customers of GEM-Pack will have merchandising opportunities for enticing holiday shoppers with a “new, exciting option” in the berry patch.

After strawberry volume ramped up in December in response to warmer weather, Deleissegues said GEM-Pack expects another bump in volume starting Jan. 1. The firm should have good strawberry supply for Valentine’s Day, she said.
