Hoople, N.D.-based H&S FreshPak Inc. has installed a new Spectrim grader from Compac Sorting Equipment, said Jackson Hall, partner at Hoople-based Hall’s, which owns H&S FreshPak with O.C. Schulz & Sons Inc., Crystal, N.D.

The system, which is similar to one installed at Hall’s last year, has five lanes and a capacity of 20 tons of potatoes per hour, Hall said.

The new equipment should result in more consistent grading and quality, he said. “We’re not using any human graders anymore; it’s all computerized and using cameras now.”
