RedLine Solutions has hired Ross Lambert as its director of software development.

Lambert is an award-winning software engineer and solutions architect, but his greatest satisfaction comes from building and leading world-class development teams, according to a news release. The former basketball coach thrives on working with and contributing to great teams, especially technology teams taking on challenges, the company said.

RedLine Solutions helps produce companies manage, store, pack, label and ship fresh produce with complete traceability, according to the release. In addition to supporting the new Food Safety Modernization Act Section 204 record-keeping and reporting requirements, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company is extending its software functionality, RedLine Solutions CEO Todd Baggett said in the release.

“We needed a proven leader to grow our technical footprint and guide our team in this new era of food traceability. I worked with Ross before and knew he could play a key role in our growth,” Baggett added. "I am honored to have him join our leadership team."

When not using his technical skills on the job, Lambert also enjoys making music and recording in his home studio and playing each week at church and the occasional celebration, according to the release.
