Although Del Rey Avocado isn’t the biggest avocado company in the industry, it continues to strive to be the best, Lucy added.
“The San Diego Padres are proud to partner with locally owned Del Rey Avocado,” Sergio Del Prado, Padres senior vice president of corporate partnerships, said in the release. “Both founded in San Diego in 1969, we share a long-time commitment to supporting the community and providing the highest quality product to our customers. We’re excited for Padres fans to enjoy Del Rey Avocados at Petco Park this season as we continue to enhance the concessions experience at America’s #1 Ballpark.”
In one benefit of the new partnership, Del Rey Avocado will expand the visibility of produce commodities in professional sports leagues. Connecting with fans through marketing materials and sampling demonstrations will help educate baseball fans on avocado health benefits, according to the release.
Fans can enjoy Del Rey Avocado’s brightly colored neon signs during ballgames and learn about California avocados through sampling demos during select games at Petco Park this season, according to the release.
“Our goal at the food demos is to introduce new varieties of avocados and the benefits that avocados have for all ages to the best baseball fanbase in the U.S.,” Lucy said in the release.
