New podcast takes listeners into the orchard
Washington-based fruit grower-shipper Superfresh Growers has sponsored a fresh new podcast called “In the Bin,” which takes listeners on a journey from orchard to table, revealing the ins and outs of the produce industry, according to a news release.
Tyler Weinbender hosts the podcast and serves as Superfresh Growers' director of sustainability and packaging. With a background deeply rooted in farming in Washington state's lower Yakima Valley, Weinbender's passion for agriculture has been a driving force throughout his career, the release said.
"Industry feedback has been incredible,” Weinbender said in the release. “At first I didn't think anyone would listen, it started as a side project just for fun but has quickly turned into a great platform to share ideas, innovations, struggles and discussion about the industry we all love."

The first episode kicked things off by Weinbender chatting with retired veteran salesman Dan Harrington. Other notable guests include Brett Monson, a Pacific Northwest apple and cherry grower, as well as Steve Potter, a wizard in orchard technology and cybersecurity, according to the release.
The podcast also delves into policy matters with guests Rebeckah Adcock and John Hollay from the International Fresh Produce Association government relations team. The latest episode features Sarah Lucas, director of retail strategy at Superfresh Growers, according to the release.
