Chiquita Brands and Brooks Running have launched a "Ready, Set, Peel!" promotion.

The partnership celebrates a shared commitment to health, vitality and active living, according to a news release.

“Bananas are the perfect fuel for an active lifestyle,” Marco Volpi, chief marketing officer for Chiquita Brands, said in the release, noting that bananas are the top source of sustainable energy and nutrition amongst runners. “At Chiquita, we’re just as ‘bananas’ about running — which is a fast and energetic sport, highly effective for a health- and fitness-conscious lifestyle.

“Therefore, we’re excited to once again team up with Brooks Running, to keep spreading this message," Volpi continued.

The renewed partnership between Chiquita and Brooks Running aligns with the former, successful campaign between the two brands, the release said.

“At Brooks, we believe that running is a gift that makes your life better and happier,” Jim Miles, director of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Brooks Running, said in the release. “At the end of every run, people are in a better place than they started. Fueling your run with the right nutrition is part of this. Therefore, we are excited to extend our partnership with Chiquita.”

Chiquita’s brand fits with Brooks Running perfectly, he said.

“We’re both passionate about health and active living and we both stimulate a conscious lifestyle amongst consumers,” Miles said.

The promotion will be served via a multimarket campaign in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates, according to the release.

In addition to a retail POS activation in fruit and veg stores, supermarkets and specialist running retailers, Chiquita and Brooks will support the promotion through social media, according to the release. The Run Happy Team — Brooks’ running influencer team — is gearing up to create engaging video content, offering running tips, nutrition tips and more, the release said.

Consumers can take part in the promotion until the end of September, according to the release. Details and information including local promotional activities and conditions can be found at chiquita.com/ready-set-peel.
