‘Versatility shines’ in new Burbank Reserve russet potato variety
Farmer's Promise, potato brand and subsidiary of broker-shipper-wholesaler RPE, is launching a new variety called Burbank Reserve.
Originating from the Pacific Northwest, the variety is set to be enjoyed by retailers and consumers, with a new crop from Wisconsin-based Nuto Farms expected to be ready Oct. 1, according to a news release.
“The Burbank Reserve is presented with pride by the West family of Nuto Farms, a fourth-generation farming institution nestled in the bustling heart of Rice Lake, Wisconsin,” Rachel Atkinson-Leach, RPE’s vice president of brand and category excellence, said in the release.

The limited supply Burbank Reserve is available in 5-pound and 10-pound poly bags, according to the release.
“Its versatility shines as it effortlessly transforms into a sumptuous, fluffy mashed potato dish,” Chris McAdams, research chef, said in the release. “Whether fried or baked, the Burbank Reserve's skin delights in a crisp and flavorful revelation, harmonizing with the creamy and airy flesh, crafting an unrivaled symphony of taste and texture that truly captivates the palate.”
As a growing nationwide potato brand, Farmer’s Promise offers russet, red, yellow, white, organic and Idaho potatoes in a variety of sizes ranging from 3-pound to 50-pound cartons. The brand forges a unique connection between consumers and the dedicated farmers who cultivate their potatoes, according to the release.

With an offering that encompasses not only individual packs but also value-added single and tray packs, Farmer's Promise demonstrates RPE's commitment to quality and transparency, the release said.
