Robert Guenther departs IFPA, association seeks replacement
International Fresh Produce Association announced on Sept. 29 that Chief Public Policy Officer Robert Guenther has departed the association. IFPA will immediately begin a search to identify his replacement, the association said in an emailed statement to The Packer.
Guenther was a key leader in the development of the government relations team at IFPA. The team was formed in January 2022 after the combination of legacy organizations, Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association.
“IFPA is grateful for his dedication to the industry and his years of service as an advocate for specialty crops,” the statement said.
The IFPA government relations team, including Rebeckah Freeman Adcock, vice president of U.S. government relations; Mollie Van Lieu, vice president of nutrition and health; John Hollay, director of labor and workforce policy; Sara Neagu-Reed, director of production and environmental policy; and Angela Tiwari, director of grassroots and political affairs will “continue supporting the organization’s Public Policy Priorities, which are focused on championing the 2023 farm bill, workforce and labor challenges, expanding market access, organics, nutrition security and more,” IFPA said.
