Orangetti squash from Robinson Fresh ready to hit retailers
Robinson Fresh, Eden Prairie, Minn., is starting its first full season of offering Orangetti squash.
Spaghetti squash popularity is on the rise, according to a news release from the company. Robinson Fresh cites research from IRI Fresh, which puts spaghetti squash volume growth at retail at 11.3% last year, compared with the 2.2% in sales growth for the produce category.
Orangetti Squash was tried for multiple seasons at Robinson Fresh Product Development Centers in Davis, Calif., and Tifton, Ga.
Orangetti is available in conventional and organic, and spring supply from Mexico should last into June.
