USDA sanctions seven produce companies
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on seven produce businesses for failure to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry, according to USDA news releases:
California
- Bbc in Motion Inc., doing business as Adriana’s Farms, La Jolla, Calif., for failing to pay a $7,406 award in favor of a Massachusetts seller. Adriana Bustamante and Bernardo Bustamante were listed as the officers, directors and/or major stockholders of the business.
- Parma Fruit Inc., La Quinta, Calif., for failing to pay a $99,150 award in favor of a Florida seller. William Penny was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
Florida
- Ramxico Inc., Doral, Fla., for failing to pay a $19,973 award in favor of a Texas seller. Evelyn Acevedo and Ramon Bartolome were listed as the officers, directors and/or major stockholders of the business.
- Herb Runner Inc., Miami, for failing to pay a $21,978 award in favor of a Florida seller. Alfredo Matar was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
- Marin Farmers Market Corp., Miami, for failing to pay an $18,213 award in favor of a Texas seller. Marin Maynor was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
Texas
- A&E World Supplier Produce LLC, McAllen, Texas, for failing to pay a $14,140 award in favor of a Texas seller. Antonio G. Cueto and Maria E. Gonzalez were listed as the members of the business.
- MRP Cuts LLC, McAllen, Texas, for failing to pay a $36,744 award in favor of a Washington seller. Juan Gamez and Roberto Garcia were listed as members of the business.
