Labor of Love thanks additional Salinas Valley workers

Before returning to Yuma, Ariz., Labor of Love is visiting more farmworkers in California’s Salinas Valley to thank them for their work.

Labor of Love was established in 2015 by the Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association, and includes surprise meals and random acts of kindness. There is also a Facebook page and website dedicated to sharing farmers’ stories.

Labor of Love, along with Taylor Farms employees, visited Automated Harvesting Co. workers who harvest romaine lettuce for Taylor Farms, according to a news release.

Workers received breakfast burritos, gift cards and chances to win winter hats and blankets, the release said.

“We believe in celebrating the talents, dedication and hard work of our team members,” Adri Crawford, marketing for Taylor Farms, said in the release. “Taylor Farms is extremely appreciative of the great work our employees do every day, and partnering with Labor of Love is one way to give our thanks.”

Juan Ramos Pompa Guillen, machine operator, and Danny Garcia, mechanic for Automated Harvesting Co., were recognized for their dedication and work ethic, according to the release.
