The Packer met with Rudi Groppe, President/CEO at Heinzen Manufacturing, Intl., to discuss their newest waterjet technology, patent-pending – APCS (Automated Produce Cutting System.)

They are excited to introduce the Fresh Cut industry to this new system that utilizes robotic technology to manipulate products around a waterjet cutter. This provides the ability to cut Broccoli Florets for the first time using a waterjet. Not only does this promote Food Safety and product quality, but it helps with labor and production efficiencies. This was made possible by Heinzen, in partnership with KMT Waterjet Systems, Motoman/Yaskawa, and Soft Robotics Inc.
