Dole adds to organic salad line
Two new flavor profiles have joined the organic salad kit lineup for Dole.
Sweet Citrus and Savory Balsamic became available last month, joining the Apple Dijon and Caesar options.
Baby spinach, dried cranberries, feta cheese crumbles and citrus vinaigrette comprise the Sweet Citrus kit.
The Savory Balsamic kit comes with spring mix and spinach, crispy quinoa, pepper and herbs, and shredded parmesan cheese.
“We wanted to provide consumers with different flavor profiles than what they could find anywhere else,” said Bil Goldfield, director of corporate communications for Westlake Village, Calif.-based Dole. “The new Dole Organic Sweet Citrus has all the flavor notes of a delicious fruit salad, while the Dole Organic Savory Balsamic has a rich flavor that goes well with milder tasting foods.
“Importantly, all four (stock-keeping units) were tested only among organic consumers, and each one exceeded Dole’s high standard for flavor and purchase intent scores,” Goldfield said.
