Capespan hires for U.S. sales, operations roles

Capespan North America has named Eric Jones as director of U.S. sales and Francis Werner to director of U.S. operations.

They will be based in Capespan North America’s U.S. sales office in Gloucester City, N.J., and report to Erin Meder, the company’s U.S. general manager, according to a news release.

Jones has more than 15 years of experience in produce sales, starting as a produce manager and promoted to category manager for Giant Eagle. He was domestic sales manager for Sun Pacific and most recently senior sales representative for The Oppenheimer Group.

Werner will take a leadership role in the company’s relationships with port operators/service providers and will be primary operations liaison with U.S. government agencies that regulate imports and distribution of fresh produce, according to the release.

He has more than 25 years of experience in fresh produce operations on the East Coast, with Dole in Wilmington, Del., and most recently with Oppy as regional operations manager-East Coast, in Newark, Del.
