Grimmway CEO joins California agriculture advisory board

Grimmway Farms President and CEO Jeff Huckaby has joined the California State Board of Food and Agriculture, an advisory board to the governor and agriculture secretary.

The 15-member group, appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown, represents a range of growing regions and agricultural commodities, according to a news release.

Huckaby, a fourth-generation grower, has more than 28 years of management experience. He joined Grimmway Farms in 1998 as manager of its organic division, and was promoted to executive vice president before he started his current position in 2016, according to the release.

“I will strive to champion the concerns of California farmers, build a community that supports agribusiness and work to solve the issues facing the agricultural industry,” Huckaby said in the release.

Huckaby, a member of the United Fresh Produce Association’s board, is also a member of the California Polytechnic State University’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, according to the release.

The state board meets monthly.
