A deep lineup of speakers and a morning for field tours highlight the FreshPACKmoves 2018 in Monterey, Calif.

The May 21-23 Cal Poly packaging seminar is designed for fresh produce, food safety and logistic professionals, according to a news release.

Registration is available online.

The seminar is focused on giving produce companies the critical edge in the competitive arenas of packaging innovation, food safety and traceability, and cold chain logistics for fresh perishables, according to the release.

Some of the speakers at the seminar include:

  • Danielle Gilmartin, senior special operations manager for Hello Fresh, speaking on “Global Supply Chain in the Meal Kit Industry”;
  • David Acheson, president and CEO of The Acheson Group, speaking on “FSMA and What to Expect Going Forward”;
  • Ray Sikka, founder and CEO of Sensitel Inc., speaking on “Demystifying Blockchain for Food Traceability”;
  • Renita Anderson, fresh produce market development for Printpack, speaking on “Improved Flexible Packaging Performance Through Innovation”; and 
  • Matthew Aronson, director of engineering for Apeel Sciences, speaking on “Improving Quality & Preventing Waste with Plant-Derived Shelf Life Technology”;

Other speakers and panel presentations will also be offered at the event, according to the release.

Field tours to nearby produce operations will be offered for seminar participants May 23.
