House Agriculture Committee names communications director

Patrick Delaney, former communications manager at the United Fresh Produce Association, is Democratic communications director for the House Agriculture Committee Minority.

Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., announced Delaney’s appointment.

Delaney joined United Fresh in 2008, handling media relations and association communications. He left in December 2011 to join the American Soybean Association as director of policy communication.

“Patrick brings a broad range of food and agriculture policy communications experience to the committee, having experience working within the row crop, specialty crop and food industries,” Peterson said in a news release. “He will play a vital role in the committee’s work on a new farm bill and I welcome him aboard.”

Delaney was named in the 2013 40 under 40 agriculture leaders sponsored by Vance Publishing, the former owner of The Packer.
