USDA offers free teleconference on organic program integrity

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is using information technology to bolster the integrity of the organic seal, and has set a web seminar to explain how.

The USDA’s National Organic Program will host the teleconference/web seminar from 1-2 p.m. Eastern on May 10, according to a news release.

Topics covered in the free web event, according to the release, include:

  • Organic Integrity Database Updates: Learn about new features in the online Organic Integrity Database;
  •  Export Certificate Updates: Learn about options the National Organic Program is exploring for using electronic export certificates to support the needs of organic businesses shipping to Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Mexico; and 
  • Coming Innovation: Learn what is in the works for using technology to strengthen the integrity of the USDA organic seal.
