RFG hires Eastern sales director, creates SVP of supply chain role

Renaissance Food Group (RFG), Rancho Cordovo, Calif., has hired Eastern U.S. director of sales and promoted someone to a new position at the company, senior vice president of supply chain.

Daniel Klausner, director of produce sales-East, has 25 years of experience in produce, with a strong history of sales, according to a news release. He’s been involved in various sales positions at Standard Fruit & Vegetable, Del Monte Fresh Produce, and most recently, Apio.

“Renaissance Food Group welcomes Daniel and looks forward to utilizing his expertise in the fresh produce business to parlay our growth as a company,” James Naaman, senior vice president of national sales, said in the release. “His ability to drive sales while strategically aligning with our core competencies will be paramount to establishing long-term sales success for RFG.”

Raina Nelson, who joined RFG in 2012 as vice president of sales, is now in a newly created position at the company, senior vice president of supply chain. Her past experience includes import and quality assurance manager at C.H. Robinson, and director of food safety for Rosemont Farms. In her new role, according to the release, Nelson will use her B.S. in Food Science and M.S. in Food Science and Technology degrees to “continue streamlining operations at RFG.”

“With Raina’s industry knowledge and previous experience in implementing a comprehensive supply chain program, we are excited to have her in this new role,” RFG President Jim Gibson said in the release. “Raina’s proven leadership skills make her the perfect candidate to oversee our Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Product Development, and Procurement departments here at RFG.”
