Fresh Del Monte Produce reported the COVID-19 pandemic dropped expected net sales of fresh, value-added and banana segments in an “unprecedented and turbulent” second quarter by an estimated $132 million.
Fresh Del Monte officials say 2019’s increase in earnings reflects the company’s diversification into fresh-cut and value-added, a move the company began with the purchase of Mann Packing two years ago.
Crunchies Natural Food Co., offers a line of freeze-dried fruits, including strawberries, mixed fruit, strawberry-banana, pineapple, mango and cinnamon apple, said Shaby Fisher, senior marketing specialist.
