Shuman Produce donates onions
Shuman Produce is donating 2,602 pounds of its RealSweet Peruvian sweet onions to Farm Share Florida through the #ShareTheSweetSpirit campaign.
"Giving back has always been important to Shuman Produce; it's one of our foundational pillars," said John Shuman, president of Shuman Produce, in a press release. "We are excited to help make a difference in the lives of others all year long, especially during the holiday season."
According to a news release, the four-week social media campaign encouraged followers to engage on Facebook and Instagram how they were giving back to help others and making a difference in their communities during the holiday season.
For every engagement on social media, Reidsville, Ga.-based Shuman Produce pledged to donate a pound of its RealSweet Peruvian sweet onions to the non-profit. The total reached 1,301 pounds and Shuman Produce decided to match that to bring the total to 2,602 pounds, according to the release.
