Oppy hits the slopes with competitive skier partnership
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Oppy will sponsor competitive skier Emeline Bennett for the second year.
The grower, marketer and distributor of fresh produce said Bennett’s dedication to her sport and commitment to a healthy lifestyle as a nutrition advocate aligns with the company’s core principles.
"Emeline embodies dedication and excellence in her sport, matching Oppy’s values while pursuing her dream of representing Canada in the Olympics in ski-cross,” Karin Gardner, executive director of marketing for Oppy, said in a news release. “We’re proud to continue supporting her journey and wish her all the best as she approaches the end of the season.”
Oppy said Bennett will share highlights, food tips and day-in-the-life moments on its social media channels as she prepares for the World Juniors competition in May.
Bennett competed throughout the world and qualified for the Europa Cup and World Cup; she said she understands the importance of fresh produce as she crisscrosses the globe to compete.
“There is a lot of travel in this career which can prove challenging to your diet,” Bennett said in the release. “That’s why I’m honored to be sponsored by Oppy who makes fruits and vegetables more easily accessible worldwide. As an athlete, it’s of utmost importance that I fuel my body with nutritious foods that will have a direct impact on my performance.”
