Jay Pack was not a “responsibly connected individual” of Huxtable’s Kitchen Inc., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, removing him from liability in a Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act case.

Huxable’s Kitchen, Vernon, Calif., violated the PACA by not paying almost $552,000 to six sellers for 147 lots of produce, according to a USDA news release. The company received the shipments from Oct. 2015 to May 2016.

The USDA lists Perry Morgan and Huxtable’s Kitchen Holding Corp. as responsibly connected to Huxtable’s Kitchen. Morgan may not be employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee until July 15.

Pack, Daniel Weiner, Michelle Brooks and John Dutton disputed their responsibly connected status to Huxtable’s Kitchen, and the USDA released them from sanctions connected to Huxtable’s Kitchen, according to the release.

Lewis Macleod continues to challenge his responsibly connected status.
