USDA files PACA complaint against RRD Produce
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed an administrative complaint against RRD Produce Co., Los Angeles, for Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act violations.
RRD Produce allegedly failed to pay $174,464 to 17 sellers of produce from May-December 2018, according to a news release.
The company can request a hearing. If the USDA finds RRD Produce violated the PACA, the USDA can bar the company from the industry for three years, or two years if the company posts a USDA-approved surety bond.
Principals who are found to be responsibly connected to the company during the time of the violations can be barred from being employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee for two years, or for a year with a USDA-approved surety bond.
