The California Fresh Fruit Association, Fresno, has hired Adam Borchard as director of government and public policy.
Borchard most recently was regulatory advocate at the Association of California Water Agencies, where he was for about 4 ½ years.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences Management at the University of California-Davis and a law degree with a certificate in Public Law & Policy and Environmental law from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.
Borchard is also a recent graduate for the California Agricultural Leadership Program, according to a news release.
His first day at the California Fresh Fruit Association is March 9.
Ian LeMay, president of the association, knows Borchard through his participation in the leadership program.
“Adam brings an extensive educational and professional background to this position and we are excited to see what he can accomplish on our members behalf,” LeMay said in the release. “We believe that Adam is a natural fit, along with our current staff, to continue to bring value to CFFA members and to serve the California fresh fruit industry.”
