Florida Classic Growers, Dundee, Fla., has a new partnership with three citrus groups that will expand its product offerings and increase distribution of citrus marketed under the company’s label.

Riverfront Packing Co. LLC, The Packers of Indian River Inc. and Quality Fruit Packers Inc. will supply Florida Classic Growers (FCG) through the new agreement. Riverfront and its marketing arm, Scott Marketing Inc., will still handle international sales through Dan Richey, president and CEO of Riverfront Packing, according to a news release.

FCG is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dundee Citrus Growers Association, and is the marketing arm for the association, which sells to retail, wholesale and foodservice companies in the U.S. and Canada.

FCG markets oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, kumquats and pummelos, as well as Florida blueberries and peaches, and imported citrus.

“These are very exciting times for Florida Classic Growers,” Al Finch, president, said in the release. “The additional volume will allow us to offer more robust programs and enhance our vision of being a one-stop shop for our customers.”

In the release, Richey said several years ago, the citrus groups recognized changes in the industry would be “best met through collaboration and joining of teams with a similar vision, ethics and optimistic energy.”

“We are proud to be strategically aligned with such an innovative team at Dundee/Florida Classic and look forward to a long relationship,” Richey said in the release.

Dundee Citrus Grower Association CEO Steven Callaham said the association joins three respected multi-generational organizations through the partnership.

“Riverfront, Packers and Quality’s commitment to current and future large-scale plantings, combined with Dundee CGA’s aggressive Citrus Under Protective Screen expansion plan, will provide FCG with a sustainable, high-quality fruit supply for years to come,” Callaham said in the release.
