Nashville, N.C.-based Nash Produce expects to have a strong sweet potato supply this year, says Thomas Joyner, president.

The firm has built up its storage capacity through the year and can supply customers seamlessly all year round, Joyner said.

“Our storage capacity allows us to have more consistent produce year-round, so when there is a transition between old crop and new crop, you should never know,” he said.

Looking at the 2022 crop, Joyner said he believes Nash Produce should be in good shape, with ample supply for promotion.

According to the Nash Produce website, the company’s growers specialize in the use of the advanced micro-propagated and virus-tested certified seed program in North Carolina. That results in a more consistent crop, increased yields, smoother skin and a more true-to-type sweet potato, the company said.

Nash Produce offers both organic and conventional sweet potatoes, with most volume in the Covington variety. The company also grows other varieties and works with customers on specialty varieties and products as needed, according to the Nash Produce website.
