DiSilva Fruit to ship heirloom navels

DiSilva Fruit, Chelsea, Mass., is adding heirloom navels to its citrus lineup.

The oranges come from old-line groves in California and will be available from DiSilva Fruit from January through March, according to a news release. The hand-picked citrus are the Washington variety of navel oranges which are tested for sweetness before shipping.

"Heirloom oranges are flavor forward and extremely satisfying for any sweet craving. We are very excited to be working with our grower partners for this premium offering,” Alden Guptill of DiSilva Fruit said in the release.

The oranges are packed in three-pound bags, and 20- and 40-pound cartons.

Disilva also markets grapefruit, lemon, limes and specialty citrus, according to the release.
