Four companies win product awards at CPMA

MONTREAL — Mann Packing, Mucci Farms, Schur Packaging Systems and Mastronardi Produce took home product awards from the Canadian Produce Marketing Association convention and expo.

Salinas, Calif.-based Mann received the Best New Product Award for its Caulilini Sweet Stem Cauliflower.

Kingsville, Ontario-based Mucci won the Freggie Approved Award for its CuteCumber Poppers.

Carlsbad, Calif.-based Schur Star Systems received the Packaging Innovation Award for its ‘zip pop’ dual-compartment steam bag, which is currently being used by Salinas-based Growers Express for a value-added potato product marketed under the Green Giant Fresh label.

Kingsville-based Mastronardi won the Organic Product Award for its organic Angel Sweet grape tomatoes.

Several companies were also recognized at the show for their booths.

Burlington, Ontario-based EarthFresh Foods won Best Island Booth. Wholly Guacamole, owned by Austin, Minn.-based MegaMex Foods, won Best In-Line Booth. The Best First-Time Exhibitor Booth was awarded to Toronto-based Greenhouse, which sells organic plant-based beverages.
