Lone Star Citrus Growers, McAllen, Texas, is introducing a bi-monthly newsletter to provide resources to buyers.

The newsletter will include crop updates, anticipated volumes and market information, according to a news release from Lone Star Citrus, which ships under the Winter Sweetz brand.

Over the past two years Winter Sweetz has built an extensive market database as a resource for retailers to grow shopper demand in the citrus category.

"We are looking forward to an abundant harvest this year and sharing valuable insights with the trade as the season kicks off,” Trent Bishop, vice president of sales at Lone Star Citrus Growers, said in the release. “Due to several factors being slightly different than they were at the start of last season, we expect the first six weeks of the Texas season to be a less volatile market than it was last year, possibly taking out the peaks and valleys leading up to Thanksgiving.”

Lone Star will be at booth No. 1800 at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Oct. 19-20 in Orlando, Fla. The company will be talking about the new Texas citrus season and how its targeted research can help increase sales, according to the release.

Sign up for the newsletter on the Winter Sweetz website.
